ACT 1: The August ICU Executive meeting
As documented here the MCU Delegate on arriving at the August ICU Executive meeting was faced with a
set of allegations of which he had no prior knowledge. The Executive then passed a vote of no confidence
in our delegate and he was asked to leave.
ACT 2: MCU Committee Response
On receiving the delegate's report the MCU Committee concluded that the ICU Executive had broken the
ICU Constitution by a) dismissing the MCU Delegate without consulting the MCU; b) not allowing Gerry
Graham an adequate opportunity to defend himself. Therefore the MCU Committee proposed a
vote of no confidence in the ICU Executive to the
MCU AGM.
ACT 3: Pat Fitzsimons Letter
Shortly before the AGM the MCU Chairman received a
letter from ICU Chairman Pat Fitzsimons containing some startling allegations against Gerry Graham.
It did not address the two constitutional issues raised by the MCU. Initial checks with Gerry Graham and
John Cassidy, who is quoted in Pat's letter, cast serious doubt on the allegations.
ACT 4: MCU AGM
At the MCU AGM the vote of no confidence was passed overwhelmingly and an additional motion requesting
an apology from the ICU Executive was also passed. Pat's letter was not made public as explained
here.
ACT 5: Gerry Graham's Response
In his election manifesto Pat Fitzsimons alleges that he was required to remove Gerry Graham from the
Executive. As Pat has circulated this manifesto quite widely
Gerry's response to the allegations was published here.
ACT 6: Alan Salsac Letter and Pat Fitzsimon's Response
Following the AGM Alan Salsac sent a reply to
Pat Fitzsimons reiterating the key constitutional issues, our concerns about the validity of the
allegations and the AGM request for an apology.
Pat sent a reply claiming that Gerry had
been allowed to reply before the vote of no confidence and that he had not been physically ejected
from the meeting so Pat was satisfied that the ICU Constitution had been complied with.
ACT 7: Pat's Allegations: A factual analysis
Finally lets analyse the evidence so far and you can draw
your own conclusions.
