Munster Chess Union
The final rounds of the Division 1 and Division 2 Leagues took place on Saturday 9th May in the Springfort Hall Hotel near Mallow. The full round by round match results, leaderboard and game by game results for both divisions are now available in the Leagues section. They have also been uploaded to the ICU rating site just in time for the May Rating list. Thank you to all team captains for getting the results in. In practice the Ennis and Limerick websites are usually faster with reports as we have to get 'official' results from the team captains.

At the last AGM it was agreed that the MCU should work towards the establishment of an official Munster Junior Championships. The MCU have worked with the Munster Junior Chess Committee which have run under age competitions in Munster for several years.
The 2016 Munster Junior Championships are being organised with MJCC and will be held in January 2016.

A subcommittee of experienced tournament organisers was formed some time ago to look at revitalizing the Munster Senior Championship. For a number of years this has been combined with the Mulcachy Memorial Tournament but at the AGM it was agreed that it should be restored as a separate tournament.
The initial expectation was that it would be held around this time before the end of season. However I understand that the subcommittee concluded that the calendar is overcrowded at this time of year and are considering runnung the tournament early next season instead. Further details will of course be published here when they become available.
