Munster Chess Union
Division 1 will kick off on 1st October 2016. Full details are announced here. The League Controller will be emailing all last years team captains directly.
Division 2 is scheduled to start on 23rd Oct 2016. Based on last years results the teams involved are Tralee, Charleville, Limerick B and Dungarvan. Clubs interested in submitting new Division 2 teams are asked to contact the League Controller or Secretary as soon as possible.
The games will be available to download in PGN format in the next few days. Thanks to Kevin O'Flaherty for collecting them.
The 2016 Munster Junior Championships are being run by the MJCC on the 17th - 18th September at the West County Hotel, Ennis. This is the same venue as the Munster Championship.
The Junior Championships are open to all juniors in Ireland.

The 2016 MCU AGM was held in the Charleville Park Hotel on Sunday 24th of July at 8:00 pm. Minutes of the AGM are now available here.
On his ChessZ website, now rebranded as Munster Chess, John Alfred claims that the Munster Junior Chess Committee has always been a completely independent organisation with no connections to the MCU. To check the accuracy of these claims for yourself please follow this link.
Cork Chess Club completed a very successful league season on Sunday 8th May when Cork A won Division 1 for the second year in a row and Cork B also won Division 2. Not sure if this is a double double or a treble but congratulations on a fine achievement are certainly in order.
